Hand Surgery Oral Boards Prep Course
at the AAHS Annual Meeting
January 14, 2022
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Omni La Costa Hotel, Carlsbad, California
This is your chance to show off your skills while you stand tall supporting your decisions in a mock oral board. If you are interested, please submit a hand surgery case in which you served as the primary surgeon or assistant. The case submission should include a brief (1-2 paragraph) vignette explaining the clinical history, intra-operative management, and post-operative outcome.
The course directors will select the most instructive cases for the course oral boards-style presentation. If selected, the participant will present the case in an oral board examination format with questions asked by a panel of experienced faculty "Board examiners." The faculty will provide salient tips and pearls to help you shine through your real oral board examination.
For those who are brave enough to participate in the oral boards, you will then have an opportunity to "turn the table" and examine the faculty as they present their own cases. The 2 examinees that best hold their ground and deflects the questions with ease will receive an award. In order to submit a case for presentation, enrollees must be surgeons having completed, or planning to complete their hand fellowship in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.
AAHS members, candidate members and non-members welcome.
Submission deadline: November 1, 2021
